Global ImpactNew Life Community Church is first and foremost an outwardly focused church. We take Jesus' instructions to the Apostles that Christians should make disciples of all nations and to teach them what Christ taught, very seriously. So we take the message of Jesus to others. Those 'others' can be our neighbors, or they can be half a world away. It makes no difference to us, we will go where God calls us. When Jesus told His disciples that "you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." it has been interpreted that he was telling them; Teach what I have taught you to people who are near you (Jerusalem) Teach what I have taught you to people who are not near you but who are like you (Judea) Teach what I have taught you to people who are not near you and not like you (Samaria) Teach what I have taught you to people who's cultures may seem strange and exotic (the ends of the earth).New Life follows those commands:Go everywhere, and everywhere you go love the people there, and teach them to do as I have said. That is to love one another and believe in Christ.

We desire to see each member: Equipped in sound doctrineGrowing in godly characterDeveloping authentic community relationshipsInvolved in practical service/ministry in and out of the local bodyWhat are life groups? – New Life’s life group ministry identifies with our overall church vision “disciples becoming disciple makers” and mission ”a place where lives are transformed, relationships thrive and people become lifelong followers of Jesus Christ.” These groups meet to help pursue the vision and mission and to declare God’s glory in a very personal and practical level. This is accomplished through:Encouraging one another (i.e. fellowship and biblical application) day after day in our battle against attitude of unbelief that arises in our hearts to steal our joy in God. (Hebrews 3:12-13; 10:23-25)Building up one another (i.e. ministry and discipleship) in faith through the use of spiritual gifts that God freely distributes to His body and He wills for the purpose of edification, so that we might mature in Christ (Ephesians 4:11-16; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11; 14:12, 26; Hebrews 2:4)Increasing our love of God (worship and evangelism) through the multiplication of worshipers for the glory of God in our community and beyond. We believe that life groups help build Christian community and help people grow in Christ. Since God created us for relationships, personal interaction is essential for individual and spiritual growth. Life groups provide an atmosphere of acceptance, affirmation and confidentiality where participants can develop deep relationships and be challenged to grow in Christian discipleship. During life’s transitions and challenges, life groups can provide a ministry of care and support for participants. Life groups are a vital way for Christians to discover and develop their spiritual gifts, find a place of ministry within the Body of Christ, grow in their understanding and appreciation of scripture, and provide a way for people to explore the Christian faith. How do life groups function?Life groups are the basic units for Christian Community at New Life. These groups are made up of 5-20 people in which Christian journey is lived out through the development of relationships, the discovering and use of spiritual gifts, and growth as Christ’s disciples. These groups meet weekly for about 1 1/2hours. Every group is unique due to the blend of gifts, interests, and personalities of group leaders and members. Why do we have life groups? We all need to have encouragement, connection, advice, and support from a community of believers who are growing in Him. It should be a place to reflect on our life and situation, build community, encourage accountability, study the Bible and learn to apply it, pray for others, and reach out to the world around us. Learning to do life together, receive care, discipleship, and instruction, and learn about the ways of God through the Bible and prayer that will build us up as individuals and as a church. Faith must inspire us before we can do outreach effectively (Matt. 4:18-19)! Life Groups are geared to help us experience growth and maturity in Him and as our character is developed we can effectively reach out to impact the community and world for Him! In addition, life groups are the perfect place to:Understand and practice authentic relationships and feel a part of God’s family.Practice our call to be disciples and make disciples. Experience spiritual growth and to make His truth come to life in our lives (Matt. 28:18-20). Understand the Bible and heartfelt prayer and put it into action.Unwind, release your stress and reprioritize your life. Learn how we can handle stress, crisis, changes and the pressures of life better.Be in study of His Word and to be in prayer, we do this individually but we are also exhorted to do it in community. Welcome your friends into the church and introduce them to Christ.Develop our skills, leadership and ministry so we can be better servants of our Lord. Understand how to share Christ with loved ones and coworkers. Deepen our understanding of what it looks like to walk life together with fellow believers. Over 50 times in the New Testament commands of these relationships are described and defined as “one another’s.”Warning! The Spirit General has determined that Life Groups are detrimental to your complacency. (self-satisfied versus Christ-satisfied)! Types of Life Groups:Discipleship Groups These meet weekly for 1 year ( Sept-May)Designed to provide an environment where learning the Word and instructive discipleship is the core. The benefit of this group is being able to grow beyond personal learning, asking questions to learn, hear from others, participate in the text, see God’s word being worked out in the lives of others, interactions to take your knowledge into a deeper level, deepen your love for the Lord and one another, handle life better, share your insights with others and be challenged to grow and apply your faith. These groups cover various books of the Bible, explore topical subjects, do interactive study, discuss sermons, or read a Christian book as long as the Bible is the foundation of truth.Connecting GroupsThese groups typically meet weekly for 8-12 weeksDesigned to cover various life issues such as: Finances Parenting MarriageThe primary function is relational, the benefit of these groups is being able to share your life, learn from other’s experiences and encounters with God, and to feel a part of God’s family.

I grew up in the great land of Chicago(by far the best city ever) and moved to brown county in 2003. It’s been interesting to say the least. I enjoy the outdoors and being alone as much as with people. My greatest leader in my life, next to God, has been and will always be my father. He’s a man of great love and understanding. Interesting info:What inspires you? People who truly make personal sacrifices to expand Gods kingdom. Not just with time but also with finances and using there own knowledge and talent. What places would you like to visit before you die? Israel and Jerusalem –to visit the ancient cities and how Jesus physically lived day to day life. Ireland- to catch a leprochan. What's your favorite season? why? Spring /summer - more time to do things outside. What’s your dream car and why? One that is paid for. What is one book that impacted your life? Wild at Heart by John EldredgeWhat's on your reading list? Life Without Limits, Spiritual Warfare, Fathered by God and The complete works of Jane Austen.

My name is Ryan Johnson and I was saved on March 23, 2010, which incidentally was my parent’s twenty-fifth wedding anniversary. They talked about that day for years and I knew it would be special, but I didn’t know it would be that special. They were in Hawaii and I wasn’t, but I would be hard pressed to say that they had a better day than me.After the completion of my second year of college God made it clear to me that I was to join the newly established internship program at New Life Community Church. I never imagined being in the ministry field, but sometimes the Lord can get a hold of you pretty fast.Interesting Info:Your first job?My first job was a maintenance job at my home golf course in Illinois when I was fifteen years old. If you take an immature fifteen year old and add a gas tank full of gas with plenty of matches to go around then you can only imagine what happened next…obviously nothing good and I was let go after three months. Since, I’ve moved to Indiana and had the same job for nearly five years at our local YMCA.What’s your favorite season? Why?The transition seasons (Spring and Fall) are my favorite because the temperature tends to be at a comfortable level. I enjoy Fall because the NFL season is upon us and the hot, humid weather is behind us. I enjoy Spring because the IndyCar Series kicks off and the single greatest day of my year (Indianapolis 500 race day) happens to fall in that season. What book has impacted you the most what is on your reading list?“Every Man’s Battle” is one book that has impacted me the most, but I have “Abiding in Christ” and “Wild at Heart” on my “to read” list and look forward to seeing how those books have an impact on me.What’s your biggest challenge? The single greatest challenge I face up to this point is overcoming my weaknesses and truly dying to self. I long for the day (and it will happen) that I’ll truly know Christ and the power of his resurrection and participate in his sufferings. (Philippians 3:10)What was one of your proudest moments?I had the opportunity to pray with a young man dealing with some issues on two occasions. After praying the first time he was moved to tears and told me that me doing that met everything to him. What it meant to him also met so much to me and God really impacted that moment. A week later I prayed with him again, but this time he was hurting physically and I prayed earnestly for God to take that pain away. In that moment he told me that he felt the Holy Spirit within him just take that pain away! It was the first time I prayed for healing over someone and saw God’s awesome splendor before me.Significant others?I met Alison, my fianc, in the latter part of 2009. The story of how we met and how we came to be is great, but long story short we’re to be married on October 8, 2011. In the past year and a half I have also drawn very close to her two daughters and will adopt them shortly after we’re wedded. Those three girls have become so much a part of me and I’m blessed that God drew us together in such a wonderful way.

"Praise God for the number of guests and returning families that we had at Easter!"

"I wanted to let you know of something amazing that happened to me during the Sunday service. I’d been having hip pain for 3 days that prevented me at times from walking. At one point it was so painful I fell to the ground and had to pull myself to the bedroom because no one was home to help me. I could not extend my leg without severe pain much less put any weight on it and I could not do anything other than lie flat in bed-at times I couldn’t even twist to pick up my water without help.During the service you asked that we pray out loud. I prayed for healing and found out later that my husband prayed for my healing as well. At one point you asked those who wanted more joy and crazy love in their relationship to raise their hand or walk to the front. I was praying and remember telling myself I desperately wanted more joy in my relationship with my Heavenly Father but couldn’t walk up to the altar. As soon as the words left my mouth I felt God touch me. I tried once more to extend my leg, and for the first time since the service began, I felt no pain as I slowly extended my leg and put my weight on both legs. I was able to stand straight and distribute my weight on both legs with no pain. I have not experienced the severe pain once since God touched me on Sunday. Last night I wanted to test my hip and decided to try to use the elliptical machine, something I would not have even considered doing Sunday morning. I was able to use the elliptical machine for 45 minutes with no pain!I feel more secure in my belief that this was God’s work and I just want to shout it from the rooftops."Prayer & Fasting initative: "God has brought my husband & I even closer. The time we have taken in the evening to pray together has brought us even closer. It has taught me a deeper insiht of geting in God's presence. We have seen God answer prayers, I am grateful for the fast!

"Even though I went to church as a child, I feel like a new believer, that I have a New Life and finally feel like I truly understand what you’ve been saying and what the Bible says. I can’t wait to experience more of God’s goodness and grace and want to be able to tell others. I am truly exited to become a disciple maker and for your vision for the church.." "Thank you for a welcoming service last week. My children and I really enjoyed ourselves. We hope to make this our church home.""Thank you for Good Friday night--it was awesome!""Praise God for the Good Friday Service! Thanks to God for all those who served us and for the prayer ministry team – especially those who prayed for me!"Prayer & Fasting initative: "Each morning I look forward to my 'God time'. My heart and my mind are filled with a positive force that carries me through the day. I am keeping a journal of my journey. This program is enriching my spiritual life--such a blessing."

I have joy and privilege of being married to my bride Jill for 43 years, we together have two wonderful children actually now adults, and the honor of being called Grandpa and Grandma to 4 wonderful grandchildren, 3 girls and 1 boy. The major portion of my working career was with IBM, 27 years, as an engineer, manager and leadership development instructor. Upon retiring from IBM started a small consulting business for 10 years, assisting larger corporations in the area of organizational development. My second retirement job was a consultant for the Small Business Administration (SBDC) coaching small businesses. My ministry experience has mostly been as a lay leader, elder, marriage and family director, and small group director. Worked as an area director for a Para-church organization “Search Ministries” designed to equip churches in the area of evangelism and outreach. Interesting Info:What inspires you?Growing in understanding and experience of the Love God and His special plan for our lives. Each morning I reflect on the fact that because of Christ’s love and sacrifice,” I am God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which He has prepared that I should walk in them”. This inspires me and creates a holy expectation of seeing Him work in through my life on a daily basis for His glory.Studying and sharing the word of God What are you passions?Building genuine and meaningful relationships Seeing men and women yield their lives to Christ and joy of encouraging them in their Christian JourneySpending fun time with family and friendsSharing with my wife the joys of grand parenting Traveling with my wifeFly fishing (well let me be honest any kind of fishing)What amazes you?God’s awesome love for each of us His children and the world, that He willing gave His Son, so that we might know and serve Him. Joy and privilege of sharing that love with othersHow faithful He is in transforming and empowering us to love one anotherWhat place you would like to visit before you die...and why?Italy, to visit towns of my heritage and to eat my way from the top of the boot to the bottom. Favorite food?Homemade pasta with marinara sauce and of course with Italian sausage

It was the summer of 2005 that I first entered the doors of New Life. Having spent 16 years in Michigan serving the Lord at 3 different churches, I was amazed to find this church so different. There was a passion and fire here that fulfilled an empty place in my heart. A little over a year later, I was invited to join the staff. Since that time I have worn many hats, which has allowed me to build strong relationships with many in the church. Currently, I serve as the Connections Director. My greatest joy in working at New Life is having the opportunity to come alongside people to help them fulfill their God-given potential and encourage them in their walk with the Lord. Witnessing life-transformation never gets old! In August 2009, God had me step out of my comfort zone and sent me on a mission trip to Haiti. Since that time, Haiti has become a second home to me and I have had the opportunity to return on many trips. Not only did I fall in love with the beautiful Haitian people, but my relationship with God deepened as I have had to trust Him completely as we have navigated this faith journey together. Interesting Info:What inspires me? Humble hearts. Proudest moment: I have many…being an aunt, investing in the lives of children and teens through the years, and traveling to Haiti and sharing the gospel with those who don’t even speak my language. Interesting fact about me: I actually travelled several miles underground in a West Virginia coal mine. I am originally from West Virginia, so this made my grandparents very proud! Most fun moment: Having the opportunity to travel with my beloved translators to my favorite villages in Haiti. Together we rode buses, tap taps, in the back of a van (taxi), on a motorcycle with three people and hid out in a dump truck across the street from a tent city all in one day! I got to experience Haiti as a native and I have never felt so loved and protected in my entire life. The Haitians were actually the ones taking pictures of me, the white American missionary woman walking down the dirt road bringing HOPE to their villages. As I tried to explain this wonderful day to one of my Haitian friends, I was asked if it was better than McDonald’s. “Absolutely!” Dream vacation: Many would expect me to say Haiti, however I view Haiti as my second home now that I have become so attached to so many lovely people there and they even call me “Mum.” So my non-Haiti answer would be any place that is warm and has a sandy beach to walk. I would love to swing by Disney on the way to any location to enjoy some laughter and fun as well! Favorite musical groups: David Crowder, Chris Tomlin, Third Day, and some old tunes by the Carpenters. (Yes, that dates me….but I have to be truthful.)

PulseA Pulse is the advanced leadership program for Pop Stars or Surge that have demonstrated excellent leadership qualities, character, and initiative. Pulse serve as team leaders to each Pop Star and Surge on their team. They are to oversee each position and make sure everything gets accomplished before leaving for the day. They set the example by arriving each week at least 30 minutes before the service starts, and knowing where each of their Pop Star and Surge team members need to be and for how long. If a position needs to be filled, they are responsible to fill it with an available Pop Star or Surge. Because Pulse represents an avanced level of leadership, accountability is a primary focus for each member.

New Life adheres to the Apostles’ Creed and to the core doctrines of the Protestant Reformation namely: 1) the authority of the Bible for Christian faith and practice 2) justification by faith alone 3) the priesthood of the believers. We affirm historic Christian orthodoxy and the basic tenets of the faith as stated in the Apostle’s creed. One of the earliest and most universally accepted of Christian creeds.Below is our list of essential beliefs. However, we do not think the best way to know what we believe is to read it off a page. The best way to determine what someone (or some church) believes is to watch them. When we are handed a sheet of paper or click on a link with a list of statements, we believe that something vital is short-circuited.More than that, we become a label: Oh, you’re that kind of Christian.... that kind of church. We live in a labeling culture, but we don’t want to be a labeling church. We are a community of people seeking to follow Jesus in faith and freedom. So, here are our essential beliefs, but please don't label us by them, unless you simply label us as Christians:We believe there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory. We believe the Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments in their entirety, to be the infallible, inspired Word of God, inerrant in their original writing, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of mankind, and preserved by God throughout the ages to be the Divine and final authority for all faith and life.We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love; that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men; that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s Son. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings, His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, and ascension into heaven where He serves as our Mediator and Intercessor with the Father until He returns at the end of this age.We believe in the Holy Spirit, who came from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower for ministry all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Jesus Christ and that He is an abiding Helper, Teacher, and Guide. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and in the exercise of all the Biblical gifts of the Spirit. We believe that man was created in the image of God and that man"s willful sin resulted in spiritual death and the need for salvation. We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for salvation; that salvation is by God’s grace alone. A person receives this gift of God through personal faith in Christ. We believe in the universal Church, the living Spiritual body, of which Jesus Christ is the Head and all regenerated persons are members. We believe that water baptism and communion are two of the ordinances that our Lord Jesus committed to the Church to be observed during the present age. We practice baptism by immersion and communion open to believers. We believe that all who repent and believe on Christ as Savior are to be baptized, thus by faith identifying with the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. We do not believe that water baptism regenerates, but that baptism is a sign and seal of one’s salvation. Though we observe baptism by immersion, we will accept into membership believers who have been baptized by another mode.We believe that the Holy Scriptures exhort all believers to be filled with the Holy Spirit which will have its result in the fruit of the Holy Spirit to be produced in and exhibited by the believer; and will result in the receiving of a gift or gifts of the Spirit which empowers the believer’s life, enabling the believer to serve our Lord. We also believe the Scriptures exhort the church to practice the laying on of hands and/or the anointing with the oil for healing. We believe in the literal, personal, visible return of our Lord Jesus Christ and the establishment of His Kingdom, and that this expectation should encourage the believer to live a godly and fruitful life.We believe in the bodily resurrection of all the dead: of the saved to everlasting blessedness and eternal life in the presence of God; and of the unsaved to judgment and everlasting punishment apart from God.

Imagine a ragtag collection of surrendered and transformed people who love God and others. They are mesmerized by the idea that this is not about them, but all about Jesus. They are transfixed by His story and His heart for their city. They are seed-throwers and fire-starters, hope-peddlers and grace-givers, risk-takers and dreamers, young and old. They link arms with anyone who tells the story of Jesus. They empower the poor, strengthen the weak, embrace the outcast, seek the lost. They serve together, play together, worship together, and share life together. Their city will change because God sent them . . . that's who we are.We believe that small things done with God's love will change the world as the Holy Spirit empowers and guides us. We're transforming the world with God's love as disciples become disciple makers.

What matters mostEvery church has it's core values. These are the presiding truths that guide how they approach ministry. These are different than our beliefs, but they do have a big influence on how we do "church" .We will do anything (short of sin) to see people become life-long followers of Christ.19 Though I am free and belong to no man, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. 22 To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some. 23 I do all this for the sake of the gospel that I may share in its blessings. - 1 Corinthians 9:19 & 22-23We will accomplish more with what we have, rather then waiting for more to start accomplishing things for the Kingdom10 Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. 11 So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches? 12 And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else's property, who will give you property of your own?" - Luke 16:10-12We strive to have a MEGA impact, not to be a mega-church15 He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well." - Mark 16:15-18We are sold out to making a difference in our community25 Jesus called them together and said, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. 26 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first must be your slave- 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve , and to give his life as a ransom for many." - Matthew 20:25-28

Our VisionTo see disciples become disciple makers. Our MissionTo be a place where lives are transformed, relationships thrive, and people become life-long followers of Christ.

Darrell & Brenda Stout and Larry & Kay Crabtree were driving together and discussing the “new church”. Suddenly Larry said, “New Life! Did you hear that? New Life.” No one else heard it, but Larry heard a clear voice. God had spoken audibly! The Lord named our church…. And we’ve thanked Him for New Life ever since. Our name is more then just a collection of words. First of all, as you read earlier, God gave us the name New Life.In addition, New Life Community Church represents who we are and how we function.Often in the Bible, the name of person also represents their character and purpose. And that"s how it is for us. Our name represents both who we are (our character) and what we’re about (our purpose)NEW - LIFE - COMMUNITY - CHURCHNew experience environmentsLife transformation settingsCommunity impact initiativeChurch as God intended

WHAT'S HAPPENING AT NEW LIFE

The Beginnings of New Life Community ChurchIn January, 1984, four men from a local church went to Dallas, Texas, to James Robinson’s Conference. At that conference, they were filled with the Holy Spirit. They returned to Brown County on fire for God and all that He is. These 4 men and their wives, met several times for worship & prayer, seeking the Lord’s direction for their lives and their future. At one of the prayer times, the men were kneeling around a coffee table in prayer and the Lord clearly directed them to start a new church, a church who believed and taught on healing today and that the gifts of the Holy Spirit were for us today as well as in the time of the disciples. At our first service on December 2, 1984, at The Seasons’ Conference Center, we had 181 people. New Life met in a couple of temporary locations before purchasing land and building in 1987. An addition to the church was built in 2005. he Lord has blessed us abundantly through the years and His presence is and has been our greatest desire as a church. We feel our Kingdom purpose is teaching of the Word, healing and restoration and worship. We feel we are a lighthouse for the broken hearted, the not-yet believers and those who need healing; welcoming everyone to come as they are and loving all who come.
