New Life Community Church
~ Statement of Faith ~
1. We believe there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory; that this triune God created all, upholds all, and governs all.
2. We believe the Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments in their entirety, to be the infallible, inspired Word of God, inerrant in their original writing, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of mankind, and preserved by God throughout the ages to be the Divine and final authority for all faith and life.
3. We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love; that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men; that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.
4. We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings, His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, and ascension into heaven where He serves as our Mediator and Intercessor with the Father until He returns at the end of this age. We believe in the Holy Spirit, who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower for ministry all who believe in Jesus
5. Christ. We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Jesus Christ and that He is an abiding Helper, Teacher, and Guide. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and in the exercise of all the Biblical gifts of the Spirit.
6. We believe that man was created in the image of God and that his subsequent willful sin resulted in spiritual and physical death and in the necessity of a new birth for salvation.
7. We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for salvation; that salvation is by God’s grace alone, complete and eternal; and that only as one receives this gift of God through personal faith in Christ is one born of the Holy Spirit and made a child of God.
8. We believe in the universal Church, the living Spiritual body, of which Jesus Christ is the Head and all regenerated persons are members.
9. We believe that water baptism and communion are two of the ordinances that our Lord Jesus committed to the Church to be observed during the present age. We practice baptism by immersion and communion open to believers. We believe that all who repent and believe on Christ as Savior are to be baptized, thus by faith identifying with the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. We do not believe that water baptism regenerates, but that baptism is a sign and seal of one’s salvation. Though we observe baptism by immersion, we will accept into membership believers who have been baptized by another mode.
10. We believe that the Holy Scriptures exhort all believers to be filled with the Holy Spirit which will have its result in the fruit of the Holy Spirit to be produced in and exhibited by the believer; and will result in the receiving of a gift or gifts of the Spirit which empowers the believer’s life, enabling the believer to serve our Lord. We also believe the Scriptures exhort the church to practice the laying on of hands and/or the anointing with the oil for healing.
11. We believe in the literal, personal, visible return of our Lord Jesus Christ and the establishment of His Kingdom, and that this expectation should encourage the believer to live a godly and fruitful life.
12. We believe in the bodily resurrection of all the dead: of the saved to everlasting blessedness and eternal life in the presence of God; and of the unsaved to judgment and everlasting punishment apart from God.
